Meet The Innkeepers

John and Mary Felak | Lookaway Inn

John and Mary Felak have made North Augusta their home for the past 31 years having moved here from Western Pennsylvania in 1986. They feel very fortunate to have raised their four children in the beautiful, family oriented community of North Augusta, South Carolina. After having raised their children they are now realizing a lifelong dream of becoming Innkeepers at Historic Lookaway Inn.

John attended college at the University of Arizona and California State College in California, PA.  He spent the past 30 years in the Parks and Recreation field serving others in many capacities. Mary is a graduate of Pittsburgh Cosmetology School having earned her License as a Professional Hair Stylist. She is currently a Secretary/Bookkeeper in the local school system of North Augusta.  John and Mary were married in November of 1981 and enjoyed their honeymoon in Europe traveling to several different countries. Over the years they have traveled to many parts of the US including California, Nevada, Louisiana, Hawaii, Arizona, Florida, Texas and most of the east coast states.  They have always enjoyed traveling together to experience new adventures and see our beautiful country.

The opportunity to become Innkeepers and serve the guests of Lookaway Inn as they visit the North Augusta area in one of the two most recognizable homes here is a dream come true for them.  They hope you stop to visit, and stay a while.
